ancient times there were many cultures that developed
around the Lake and in 800 years A C there was a big
drought and people who lived there started to move to
different regions, according historians Incas were
descendants of the Tiwanacu culture the mythical couple
Manco Capac and Mama Occllo were the last kings of that
culture. |

These floating islands are the home of
the Uros tribe, one which pre-dates the Incan
civilization. According to their legends, they existed
before the sun, when the earth was still dark and cold.
They were impervious to drowining or being struck by
lightning. They lost their status as super beings when
they disobeyed universal order and mixed with humans,
making them susceptible to contempt. They scattered,
losing their identity, language, and customs. They
became the Uro-Aymaras, and now speak Aymara. Because of
their simple and precarious lifestyle, the Incas thought
them worth little and accordingly taxed them very
little. Yet the Uros, with their basic reed homes
outlasted the mighty Incas with their huge stone temples
and mountain-top enclaves.

Along the

Raya pass was the border between Incas and Collas but
when Pachacutec Inca expanded the territory all cultures
of the high plateau were conquered but even like this
the Incas had some conflicts with these culture, in the
upper part of the sacred valley is also located the
biggest temple of the Inca time called as Wiracocha's
temple in the Andean believe he was the god of the gods,
after this place there is another magnificent place

Along the
sacred valley the Inka people built many astronomical
observatories to know the change of seasons, but this
civilization was really prepared and advanced in the
religion, astronomy and farming systems if the the
Spanish wouldn't come to Peru the agricultural technics
were would have been different because the Inkas
developed the best technic in the irrigation system even
now a days we still astonish how the inka terraces and
the water channels are still working.

The
Inca
trail is one the pilgrimage roads to Machupicchu, we
cannot imagine how many people worked building the watch
towers and villages on trail according historians this
trail was made between 14th and 15th centuries, for the
Inca people never existed the impossible because they
curved hard rocks, the first day you'll appreciate the
magnificent archaeological sites and beautiful mountains.

you will walk 04 to 06 hours. (3000-3300m.a.s.l) Do not forget to bring

The second
day of the trail is considered the most difficult but
the first day you'll walk a little more approximately 10
hours, once you rich the highest point you'll feel close
to the sky and from there you'll appreciate the
mountains which ones are considered as deities and
protectors of the Andean people. when we do this trail
we fell as the pilgrims of the Inka time because there
are many watch towers and the windows are facing to the
trail. |
Today is the challenging
day as we’ll get to the highest pass at 4200 mts. Walk
slowly and try to keep your pace..This is not a race!!, Campsite is located at
3600 ma s l aprox.

original, on the way you'll visit Phuyupatamarka (city
above the clouds) over there there is an astronomical
observatory luxuriously built. |

and try to spot orchids. You’re entering on the cloud
forest. The campsite is at 2700 ma s l and there’s a
restaurant...good chance for taking a shower and have a
drink. Optional hot showers

Despite being one of the most important Inca monuments,
hardly anything is yet known about Machu Picchu. There
are still many questions that will probably never be
answered. What was it? What was its purpose? When was it
built? Why was it abandoned? Why did the Spanish
conquerors never know about Machu Picchu? Was it still
inhabited even long after the Spaniards had reached
Cusco?, and many other such questions. In a way, given
its strategic location, it could have been a military
centre, a defence post for controlling the likely
rebellions by the "antis" or natives, or an advance post
for the conquest of the forest area or Antisuyo. It is
also believed that it was the Inca's ideal resting
place, or the major sanctuary devoted to the Inca
Pachacutec, who saved the cuzqueños from the Chanca
invasion. Or, as emerges from the discovery of an
only-female cemetery, It might have been the secret home
of the acllas or "royal virgins" devoted to the deities
and serving the Incas. |
Another early wake-up call
on tour...but worthy as today you will get to the Sun
Gate after 01 hour walking (aprox.). One more hour to go
until you get to
Machupicchu and visit it!! (2hrs
visit) Bus down to Aguas
Calientes (25min) and train back to Ollantaytambo
(90min) Transfer to Cusco Hotel
(2hrs), Optional: climb up to Huayna Picchu mountain for a good picture. Takes 01 hour
up and 01 more down. If you have high scares take it
easy. now a days is a little bit difficult to get a
ticket to climb this mountain because is 400 people
available a day and there are two schedules one in the
morning at 7:00am and second at 10:00am so for the
people who want to do this optional activity we suggest
to go straight after the Machupicchu check point and get
a ticket

In 1901, the Peruvian Government
created a committee to explore the nation's riverways.
Don Juan Villalta led an expedition along the Tambopata
River, departing from
Sandia.[1]
Villata founded Puerto Maldonado on July 10, 1902 as a
station where the Tambopata met the Madre de Dios. He
named the port after Faustino Maldonado, of
Tarapoto, who had explored the
Madre de Dios in 1861 and drowned in the rapids of the
Mamoré River. The Madre de Dios region was
created by law on Dec. 26, 1912 with Puerto Maldonado as
its capital.[2]
The city was formally recognized in
1985.

Puerto Maldonado is in the
tropical
Amazon basin. The climate is
hot and humid at all times. The average annual
temperature is 26 °C (79 °F) with the months of August
and September being the hottest. Annual rainfall exceeds
1,000 millimetres (3.3 ft). The wet season is from
October to April. The main part of the town is located
on a slightly elevated area that does not normally flood
in the wet season. Road travel often becomes impossible
during this time. A low season occurs between June and
August.
A common phenomena known locally as a "surazo"
or "friaje" occurs when polar winds blow in from the
mountainous south. The temperature will drop to as low
as 8 °C (46 °F) for several days.This is the last day
where you see part of Peru in the south and the
